The Smile

What does a smile mean to you? A smile can brighten up your day! A smile can have a contagious effect on whomever you grace it upon. When you see someone smile, how does it make you feel? Do you even know if the smile is genuine? As just as contagious a smile is, it can play a major role in your life!
A true smile can go a very long way. When I see a smile, I'm constantly analyzing it. Trying to depict the "realness" of it. A real smile can make me feel warm. A real smile can carry some type of reassurance behind it. It takes thousands of muscles to pull of a smile. And sometimes you wonder, why even waste the effort, the muscles. (smile) So when people lie to you, trying to convince you of something, why do they smile? Is it to make you believe their words? Make you feel like you should trust them as well as their smile? Research has proven that when people intentionally lie, they smile less. A liar's smile can come faster than a real smile and is held much longer. Hmmm... makes you wonder doesn't it? When you feel someone is lying or even know for a fact. Then they try and convince you that they're not lying with a smile.
There are five common types of smiles; the tight-lipped smile, the twisted smile, the drop-jaw, sideways looking up smile, and the George W. Bush grin. How many do you think you can recognize?
